Ultrasonic 3

The training offered under the title Ultrasonics 3 (Level UT3) is meant for qualified and/or certified ultrasonic inspectors and users with knowledge of ultrasonic testing according to Level UT2 as a minimum requirement.

Training content

• Elementary physics (refreshing and summary)
• Ultrasonic testing of special workpieces (alloys, austenite, non-metals)
• Choice of probe and special probes
• Precision thickness measurement
• Ultrasonic testing at low and high temperatures
• Basics of TOFD testing ((time-of-flight diffraction technique) and Phased-Array testing
• Basics of automated testing
• Testing using position encoders and scanning systems
• Immersion testing
• Standards and test instructions
